Officials said the notice issued to Sisodia did not specify a reason. Mir’s notice referred to a discrepancy in his parents’ names, while the notice sent to Seema cited a difference in her name. The report did not provide the specific entries recorded in the notices or identify the documents sought from the family.
The exercise is linked to the verification of voter information against an earlier electoral roll. Advani, his daughter Pratibha and daughter-in-law Geetika were issued notices after their names could not be matched with the 2002 Special Intensive Revision voter list, according to officials. Advani’s son Jayant completed the matching process, the report said.
All four members of the Advani family are voters in the New Delhi Assembly constituency. The notices do not, by themselves, establish that the individuals will be removed from the electoral roll. Officials said the information and documents submitted by voters would undergo due verification before their names are included in the final list.
The process has also affected the current chief minister. Officials said Rekha Gupta received a similar notice, but her entry was validated after document verification. Her name has been retained for inclusion in the final electoral roll for the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, which officials said is scheduled to be published on 4 November.
Kejriwal and Sibal were also among those reported to have received notices under the exercise. The report did not state whether their verification had been completed or whether their names had been retained in the final roll.
The notices show how discrepancies in names, family details and older electoral records can trigger additional scrutiny during a roll revision.
