Rail passengers travelling between Delhi and northern states received partial relief this week after Northern Railway restored the original operational corridor for one of its premium semi-high-speed services, reversing an earlier diversion linked to infrastructure maintenance works.
The revised operational plan affects the New Delhi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express, which will now continue on its standard alignment through Panipat and Ambala Cantonment instead of the temporary diversion route announced earlier via Meerut City and Saharanpur. Railway authorities indicated that the restoration currently applies to the June 2 journey schedule, while diversion arrangements for several other services remain unchanged until June 6.
