Delhi PRS Counters to Close or Shut Early on Diwali

Several Delhi PRS counters will remain closed on Diwali, while reservation facilities at key railway stations will operate only from 8 am to 2 pm, according to a report by Jagran – New Delhi. The revised schedule applies to passenger reservation system counters across the Delhi division.

Counters at Baraut, Noli, New Ghaziabad, Mansa, Narwana, Tohana, Muradnagar, Maur, Khatauli, Gohana, Samalkha, Gannaur, Kaithal, Shahabad Markanda, Jhajjar, Darul Uloom, Saket Court, Dwarka Court, the Central Administrative Tribunal and Chaudhary Charan Singh University will remain closed.

Reservation counters at several major stations will operate during the first shift only. These include Anand Vihar Terminal, Sahibabad, Gurugram, Palam, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Palwal, Tapri, Narela, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Jind, Rohtak, Modinagar, Meerut Cantonment, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Greater Noida, Shakurbasti, Bahadurgarh, Nangloi, Shamli, Deoband and Pataudi Road.

At these locations, counters that normally operate in two shifts will be available only between 8 am and 2 pm. The change means passengers seeking in-person reservation services will have a shorter booking window, while those planning station visits later in the day may need to use other available channels.

The schedule covers stations and reservation facilities in the Delhi railway division, which serves Delhi and surrounding parts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The report said the changes had been made with passenger convenience in mind during the festival. Travellers using a specific counter should therefore check its operating status and timing before visiting, with the listed counters either closed for the day or limited to the morning and early afternoon shift.
