Delhi-Noida traffic diversions are in force on October 20 for Dussehra celebrations, Ramleela programmes and Ravan burning events, with restrictions affecting key roads in eastern Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida West and Dwarka. Commuters have been advised to plan journeys in advance, use alternative routes and follow directions from traffic personnel.
In eastern Delhi, diversions will affect NH-24, Road Number 56 and Vikas Marg as crowds are expected to increase around Dussehra events. Travellers using these roads have been advised to allow additional time for their journeys. The report does not specify the exact duration of the restrictions on each of these routes.
Vehicle movement has also been stopped around Noida Stadium because of Ramleela and Ravan burning programmes. Diversions are in place near Sector 12, Sector 22, the Sector 56 tri-section, Stadium Chowk, Modi Mall Chowk, Reliance Chowk and the Sector 31-25 Chowk.
Vehicles travelling towards Value Bazaar and Fortis in Sector 62 can use the Sector 59 tri-section, according to the traffic arrangements reported by Jagran. In Greater Noida West, vehicles travelling from Ek Murti Golchakkar towards Galaxy Golchakkar will be diverted through alternative routes via D Mart, Bisrakh Golchakkar, ACE Golchakkar and Khairpur Golchakkar.
Further route changes may be introduced during idol immersion activities on October 20 and 21. Commuters have been asked to check the latest diversion information before leaving home, particularly if their journey passes through Noida Stadium, Greater Noida West or the eastern Delhi corridors identified in the advisory.
The Delhi traffic advisory also covers Dussehra celebrations in Dwarka. Traffic diversions and restrictions may be imposed between 4.50 pm and 8 pm because of expected VVIP movement, a large gathering of pedestrians and heavy vehicle movement. The advisory asks motorists to avoid affected roads where possible, follow diversion signs and comply with instructions issued by traffic personnel deployed in the area.
