Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Lane Closure Disrupts Jaitpur-DND Route

A lane on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway connecting Jaitpur Pushta Road with DND Maharani Bagh has been closed until further orders, disrupting the route towards Ashram and Sarai Kale Khan, according to a Delhi Traffic Police advisory reported on Tuesday.

The affected stretch is located near Madanpur Khadar, where a section of the National Highways Authority of India highway has been temporarily closed. Traffic police have advised motorists travelling from Jaitpur towards Ashram and Sarai Kale Khan to avoid the closed portion and use alternative routes.

Vehicles headed towards the affected destinations have been asked to travel through Kalindi Kunj and Mathura Road, using the service road to reach their destinations. The advisory asks commuters to plan journeys after accounting for the closure and to follow traffic signs and directions placed along the road.

The closure affects a key connection between the southern Delhi side of the expressway and the DND Maharani Bagh corridor. Traffic movement on the relevant highway section from Jaitpur towards Sarai Kale Khan and Ashram will remain restricted until the closure is withdrawn, the report said.

The Delhi Traffic Police has deployed personnel in the affected area to help manage vehicle movement and guide commuters towards the alternative routes. Motorists have been advised not to enter the closed section and to follow instructions issued at the site.

The advisory comes as the corridor continues to handle traffic linking southern Delhi with the Ashram and Sarai Kale Khan areas. The alternative route through Kalindi Kunj and Mathura Road may require commuters to adjust their travel plans, particularly those who would ordinarily use the expressway connection towards DND Maharani Bagh.

The traffic police has not specified in the advisory when the closure will end. The affected lane will remain closed until further orders, with commuters expected to rely on the designated diversions and on-ground traffic directions in the meantime.
