DDA Housing Sales Jump 80% as Narela Drives Delhi Demand

DDA housing sales rose 80 per cent year-on-year during the first seven months of financial year 2026-27, with the Delhi Development Authority selling 9,332 flats between April and October 2026, officials said on Wednesday. More than 90 per cent of these sales came from Narela, making the area the principal contributor to the authority’s housing performance so far this financial year.

The DDA sold 5,198 flats during the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The latest figure represents an increase of 4,134 flats, according to information released by the authority. The sales cover housing units across the Lower Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG) and Higher Income Group (HIG) categories.

The increase follows the launch of several DDA housing projects in the three major income categories over the past few months. These projects are part of the authority’s continuing effort to expand housing availability through its planned residential developments across Delhi.

In its statement, the DDA attributed the rise in sales to what it described as growing public confidence in its housing initiatives. “This represents an increase of 4,134 flats in sales, reflecting growing public confidence in DDA’s housing initiatives,” the authority said.

The DDA also linked the sales performance to sustained monitoring and oversight of the development of Delhi’s sub-cities. The authority said the initiatives had been backed by the continuous monitoring and keen oversight of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

Narela’s contribution is significant because the area accounted for more than 90 per cent of the DDA’s total housing sales during the current financial year up to October. The figures indicate that demand for the authority’s newly offered homes has been concentrated heavily in this sub-city rather than being evenly distributed across its housing developments.

The sales data also places Narela at the centre of the DDA’s current housing strategy. While the authority has offered units across LIG, MIG and HIG categories, the supplied figures do not provide a category-wise or location-wise breakdown beyond Narela’s overall contribution. They also do not specify the number of flats offered, the prices of the units, or the timelines for possession.

The DDA’s latest performance comes as the authority continues to use housing projects in Delhi’s sub-cities to provide homes across different income segments. The authority’s statement did not disclose the number of projects launched in the period, the total inventory still available for sale, or the infrastructure and service status of the locations where the flats were sold.

For prospective buyers and urban policymakers, the next measurable milestone will be whether the sales momentum continues through the rest of financial year 2026-27 and whether demand expands beyond Narela. The DDA’s current figures cover sales recorded through October 2026.
