Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued a Charminar traffic advisory for November 6 to 11, warning commuters of likely congestion on key roads leading to the landmark during the expected Diwali rush at Bhagyalakshmi Temple.
The advisory covers the Madina–Charminar, Murgi Chowk–Charminar and Rajesh Medical Hall–Shah Ali Banda–Charminar stretches. The police have asked commuters to avoid these routes where possible and follow traffic signage and instructions from personnel deployed in the area.
Devotees visiting the temple have been advised to use designated parking facilities instead of approaching the Charminar precinct directly by private vehicle. The listed facilities include Mufeed-ul-Anam School Ground, Sardar Mahal Road, Charminar Bus Terminal, Unani Hospital premises, SYJ Complex, MJ Bridge, Government City College and QQ Stadium.
Additional designated parking areas are available along Khilwath Road, according to the advisory. The arrangements are intended to manage the expected increase in vehicles and pedestrian movement around the historic core during the festival period.
The traffic restrictions and guidance will remain in effect from November 6 through November 11. Commuters travelling through the Old City have been asked to plan their routes in advance and comply with directions at junctions and approach roads leading to Charminar.
For travel assistance, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has provided the helpline number 9010203626. Commuters can also follow updates issued through the department’s social media channels during the advisory period.
