The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will hold a direct phone-in programme on October 23 to receive complaints from residents about drinking water, sewage, water meters and billing.
The programme will be conducted from 9.30 am to 10.30 am under the chairpersonship of BWSSB Chairperson Dr Manjula N, IAS. Residents can speak directly to the board about problems in their wards and localities during the one-hour session.
The board has invited complaints about drinking water supply, wastewater emerging from sewage pipelines or inspection chambers, water meter-related issues and problems with water bills. The initiative gives consumers a direct channel to report service failures and seek action from the utility.
Residents can call 080-22945119 or 080-22229639 to participate in the phone-in programme. BWSSB consumers have been asked to keep their RR number ready while registering a complaint. The RR number is the customer reference linked to a water connection and can help the utility identify the account and service location.
The programme comes amid the routine challenge of handling multiple types of water and sanitation complaints across Bengaluru’s extensive urban area. Separating drinking-water supply issues from sewage overflows, meter disputes and billing complaints can help the utility route cases to the relevant operational teams, although the announcement does not specify a resolution timeline for complaints received during the session.
The BWSSB has urged residents to make use of the direct phone-in facility. Further action on individual complaints will depend on the details provided by consumers and the board’s assessment of the reported issue.
