The project is designed to examine the city through the routes people take every day, moving beyond well-known landmarks to focus on communities, streets and places encountered during ordinary journeys. That approach is particularly relevant to a city where mobility often determines how people experience urban life. A daily bus or metro journey can connect residential neighbourhoods with employment districts, educational institutions, markets and public spaces. For many residents, public transport is also one of the few places where different income groups, professions and communities share the same urban space. The project arrives as Bengaluru continues to expand its public transport network. Metro extensions, suburban rail development and improvements to bus services are intended to give residents alternatives to private vehicles. Yet infrastructure alone does not determine whether people feel connected to a city.
