Andhra Pradesh Investment Push Gains Pace as ₹14 Lakh Crore Clears Cabinet

Andhra Pradesh is positioning faster project approvals and industrial infrastructure as the foundation of a new investment push, with state ministers saying proposals worth about ₹14 lakh crore have received cabinet approval and could generate more than 10 lakh jobs.

The claims were made at the CII Regional Summit held at the Indian Institute of Management in Gambhiram near Visakhapatnam. Civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu said Andhra Pradesh was emerging as an investment destination because of faster approvals, industry-friendly policies and stable governance.

Naidu said the state was using the APIIC single-window mechanism to expedite project clearances. According to the minister, project proposals were being processed and cleared within six to 12 months. He also pointed to improved cooperation between the Centre and the state as a factor supporting industrial development.

The announcement places the approval process at the centre of Andhra Pradesh’s investment pitch. For companies, the stated six-to-12-month timeline is intended to reduce the administrative delay between submitting a proposal and receiving permission to proceed. For the state, the challenge will be to convert approved proposals into operating projects rather than leave them at the announcement stage.

Heavy industries minister T.G. Bharat said the government’s focus was not limited to signing memorandums of understanding. He said proposals worth approximately ₹14 lakh crore had received cabinet approval and could create more than 10 lakh jobs. Including earlier agreements, investments of nearly ₹22 lakh crore to ₹23 lakh crore had reached the confirmation stage, Bharat said.

The figures were presented alongside a government target of creating 20 lakh jobs over the next five years through industrial expansion and infrastructure development. Bharat said regional investment conferences were being held ahead of the state’s flagship Partnership Summit, scheduled for November 12 and 13.

The government’s industrial strategy also includes cluster-based development and the establishment of MSME parks in every Assembly constituency, according to Bharat. The proposed network is intended to distribute industrial activity across the state rather than concentrate investment in a limited number of established locations.

The summit exhibition featured 25 companies from sectors including hydraulics, metallurgy, manufacturing technology, healthcare, agritech, electronics, renewable energy and speciality products. Products from north Andhra, including Araku coffee, Pondhuru khadi, Madugula halwa and Etikoppaka wooden toys, were also displayed.

The exhibition was presented as a platform for entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders to build commercial connections and create market opportunities for local producers. Ministers Ram Mohan Naidu, Bharat and B.C. Janardhan Reddy visited the exhibition during the summit.

The next significant milestone will be the Partnership Summit on November 12 and 13. The government’s stated investment and employment targets will depend on how many approved and confirmed proposals move through clearances, construction and eventual operations, stages that were not detailed in the report.
