Over the past week, the AMC has diligently executed a comprehensive initiative aimed at staunching the influx of acidic industrial water into domestic drainage systems. As part of this concerted effort, the civic body has mandated all zonal additional engineers to conduct daily assessments of water pH levels within domestic drainage networks. Should these examinations reveal the presence of acidic compounds indicative of industrial discharge, immediate measures ensue, including the disconnection of sewage connections affiliated with the culpable industrial units.
The genesis of this vigorous enforcement drive stems from a litany of grievances voiced by sewage treatment plant operators, who have decried the contamination of domestic wastewater with industrial effluents.
