Larsen and Toubro (L&T), NCC and GR Infra among 16 real estate players
have evinced interest in redeveloping the Ahmedabad railway station. The
station will be developed using the engineering, procurement, and construction
mode. The estimated project cost is INR 2,563 crore.
The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has refloated the tender for the
redevelopment of Ahmedabad station after making some course correction in
the scope of the civil work.
The scope of work includes but is not limited to, undertaking civil and MEP
works for the station building and associated infrastructure, which primarily
consists of dedicated access roads, multi-modal transit hub buildings, iconic
building, development of surrounding circulation area, etc.
The redevelopment of Ahmedabad station is amongst flagship projects which
will integrate different modes of transport such as high speed, Metro, BRT,
railways, etc, while protecting the heritage structures.
The revamped Ahmedabad station will feature a spacious roof plaza with a
range of passenger amenities. It will have retail spaces, cafeterias, and
recreational facilities.
