A bomb threat sent by email to schools in Ahmedabad’s Satellite and Bodakdev areas triggered precautionary evacuations, early dispersal of students and a large security operation on October 27, according to a report by Gujarat Samachar. Police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and dog squads were deployed to inspect the affected premises.
The report said school administrators informed police after receiving threatening emails from an unidentified person. It named Narayan Guru School, Vidya Bharati School and C.N. Vidyalaya in the Satellite and Bodakdev areas, while also referring to Podar International School in Chandkheda. An earlier summary in the same report referred to three schools, making the exact number of affected campuses unclear.
As a precaution, school buildings were vacated and students were released early. Parents were contacted through messages and phone calls and asked to reach the campuses to take their children home. The action was taken to protect students and staff while security agencies checked the premises.
Police personnel, sector officers, BDDS teams and dog squads reached the schools after being alerted. The search operation covered school buildings, classrooms, playgrounds and parking areas. The report did not state that any explosive device had been found, nor did it provide details of an arrest or identify the sender of the emails.
The incident placed school administrations, families and local authorities under immediate operational pressure. Evacuating a campus requires coordination between school management, police, parents and transport arrangements, particularly when several institutions are affected at the same time. In this case, parents were asked to collect students while the campuses were being checked.
The report also said that Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s main building at Danapith received a separate bomb threat. The building was evacuated as a precaution, with officials and applicants moved outside. Police, BDDS personnel and a dog squad carried out a security check there as well.
The report further linked another threat to a concert by Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh scheduled at Narendra Modi Stadium on November 21. It said an email had been sent in the name of the Khalistan National Army. The supplied report did not establish whether the school, municipal building and concert-related threats were connected.
Authorities had not, according to the supplied account, announced the result of the searches, confirmed the authenticity of the threats or disclosed further investigative findings. Police and security agencies were continuing checks at the affected locations.
