Ahmedabad Aadhaar centres will now operate on Sundays across all seven municipal zones, giving employees, students, traders and other residents an additional day to access Aadhaar-related services. The centres will remain open from 10 am to 6 pm every Sunday, according to information reported by Gujarat Samachar – Ahmedabad.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has designated one Aadhaar service centre in each of its central, north, east, south, west, north-west and south-west zones. The arrangement is intended to help residents who cannot set aside time for documentation-related work during regular working days.
The civic body’s decision is particularly relevant for people whose work, education or business commitments make weekday visits difficult. Employees and traders often have limited flexibility during office and market hours, while students may also find it difficult to visit civic facilities during the week. Sunday operations create a scheduled access window without requiring residents to take time away from these activities.
The centre in the central zone will function at the Giradharnagar Ward Office near Rachna School, opposite Civil Hospital in Shahibaug. In the north zone, residents can visit Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan near Memco Crossroads on Naroda Road, Memco.
The east-zone centre is located at the Amraiwadi Sub-Zonal Office beside National Handloom near Swastik Crossroads. The south-zone facility will operate from the conference room on the first floor of the Maninagar Zonal Office, opposite the fire station at Rambaug, Maninagar.
Residents in the west zone will be served at Room 415 on the fourth floor of the multi-level parking facility beside Navrangpura Bus Station. In the north-west zone, the centre is at the Late Bansibhai Pranlal Patel Bodakdev Sub-Zonal Office near Gurudwara Crossroads.
The south-west zone centre will operate from the Maktampura Sub-Zonal Office beside the APMC market near Vishala Crossroads on Sarkhej Road. The locations distribute the service across the municipal area rather than concentrating Sunday access at a single civic facility.
The report states that residents will be able to use the Aadhaar-related services available at these centres. It does not specify in the supplied information which individual services will be offered, whether appointments will be required, or whether the Sunday schedule will apply to public holidays. Residents may therefore need to confirm the applicable service and operating arrangements before visiting.
The seven centres are scheduled to operate every Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, providing the next available weekend access point for residents across Ahmedabad’s municipal zones.
