Agartala Rapid Response Team Gets AI Boost With 10 New Vehicles

Agartala’s new Rapid Response Team has received 10 technology-enabled vehicles to handle civic complaints and service challenges across the Agartala Municipal Corporation area, with the Tripura government investing Rs 2.78 crore in the fleet and truck-mounted water tankers.

Chief Minister Manik Saha flagged off the vehicles on Friday and announced a WhatsApp-based system through which residents can report complaints and make calls to the service delivery platform. The government is integrating the vehicles with an AI-driven response mechanism to speed up municipal action.

Saha said the initiative was intended to transform the municipal corporation into a “zero complaint” zone. He described the calling facility and AI-enabled response system as a first for Tripura and said it would provide residents with an additional channel to raise civic issues.

The Rapid Response Team will operate across all zones of the Agartala Municipal Corporation. The government said the vehicles were equipped with advanced facilities to help the team respond more effectively to civic challenges. The investment covers the response vehicles as well as truck-mounted water tankers.

The initiative adds a technology layer to the municipal corporation’s existing citizen-service mechanisms. According to Saha, the state’s “Amar Sarkar” portal has already benefited residents, while the new complaint system is intended to provide another route for reporting local problems and seeking action.

The vehicle launch was accompanied by the foundation-laying of two water projects in Agartala. Saha said access to safe drinking water was essential to creating a citizen-friendly environment and stated that the government was committed to ensuring safe drinking water in every ward of the municipal corporation.

The chief minister said the government was using technology for infrastructure development and renovation and was working to improve civic facilities. The new response fleet, complaint channels and water projects will now form part of the government’s effort to strengthen service delivery across the AMC area.
