The Adani Group has laid the foundation stone for a proposed 2,000-bed hospital, medical college and research centre in New Town, Kolkata, with the project expected to involve an investment of Rs 4,000 crore and be completed within three years.
Named Adani Aarogya Mandir, the proposed facility was announced at a foundation ceremony attended by Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani, his wife Priti Adani, son Karan Adani and West Bengal Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari, according to Anandabazar – West Bengal.
The hospital and associated medical facilities will be developed on approximately 52 acres. Adani said the project would provide world-class healthcare and would operate as a non-profit initiative.
