Nagpur Launches Daily IndiGo Flight Connecting Navi Mumbai Airport From December Twenty Fifth

Nagpur’s aviation connectivity is set to receive a notable boost with IndiGo launching a direct daily flight to the newly operational Loknete D.B. Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) from December 25, 2025. The move comes amid growing passenger demand on the Nagpur–Mumbai corridor, especially during the festive season, providing travellers with a faster and more convenient alternative to Mumbai’s main airport.

The scheduled service will depart Navi Mumbai at 1.45 pm, reaching Nagpur at 3.20 pm. The return flight will leave Nagpur at 4 pm, landing at Navi Mumbai at 6.35 pm. Industry experts suggest that the additional flight will help ease congestion at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, particularly during peak travel periods, while offering a reliable connection for business and leisure travellers. “Introducing a direct daily flight between Nagpur and Navi Mumbai improves regional mobility and facilitates economic activity across Maharashtra,” said a senior airline operations official. Travel agents in Nagpur report strong interest from passengers, with ticket prices currently ranging between ₹6,000 and ₹8,000, reflecting robust demand for convenient air travel in the region.

The new service is expected to significantly enhance connectivity for Vidarbha, reducing travel time for professionals, students, and other regular commuters. By bypassing Mumbai’s main airport, passengers can avoid long road transfers and potential delays, streamlining travel for corporate executives and regional travellers who often rely on air links to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Loknete D.B. Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport, inaugurated in October 2025 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was named in honour of the late social activist D.B. Patil for his work with project-affected communities. Strategically located at Ulwe in Panvel, the airport aims to serve as a secondary aviation hub for Mumbai, decongesting the city’s primary airport and supporting sustainable air traffic growth.

Industry analysts note that the launch of the Nagpur–Navi Mumbai flight aligns with IndiGo’s broader strategy to expand regional connectivity while optimising capacity amid rising operational costs. “New airport hubs such as NMIA provide an opportunity to distribute traffic efficiently, supporting sustainable urban and regional development,” said an aviation planning expert. With the addition of this direct flight, Nagpur’s air connectivity is strengthened, offering faster, safer, and more convenient options for passengers travelling to the Mumbai region. The service also signals a broader shift in India’s aviation network towards enhancing regional accessibility while addressing metropolitan congestion.
