A Pune construction company has alleged that it suffered a loss of ₹2.98 crore after a contractor assigned work at Hubballi airport allegedly completed only 15% to 20% of the project, delivered substandard work and diverted payments meant for material suppliers. Koregaon Park police have registered a case against the owner of Kiyan Infrastructure in connection with the allegations.
The complaint was filed by Sagar Raisoni, 38, a resident of Koregaon Park, against Kanishk Trambak Kamble, the owner of Kiyan Infrastructure and a resident of Latur. The case was registered at the Koregaon Park police station, according to the report by Pudhari – Pune.
Police said Kamble obtained the work order for the airport project in Karnataka after gaining the trust of A.T.R. Infraproject Pvt. Ltd. The complaint alleges that the work was started at a very slow pace and that the accused had an intention to defraud the company from the beginning.
According to the complaint, only 15% to 20% of the assigned work was completed. The work that was carried out was allegedly of poor quality. The contractor is also accused of giving different and false reasons whenever the company sought an explanation for delays, thereby maintaining its confidence while the project remained incomplete.
The alleged financial loss also involves payments for construction material supplied at the Hubballi worksite. The complainant’s company had reportedly paid the bills of suppliers on time. However, the contractor allegedly did not transfer the money to the suppliers and instead used it for personal benefit. The complaint further alleges that the work was abandoned without informing the company.
The total amount cited in the complaint is ₹2,98,09,118. The allegations cover both the incomplete and allegedly defective execution of the airport work and the alleged diversion of money intended for suppliers. The police case does not establish guilt, and the allegations will be subject to investigation and due legal process.
The complaint places the matter within the contracting chain for a major public infrastructure asset: a company entrusted with execution, material suppliers working at the site and the client that released payments. The immediate issue for investigators is to establish how the work order was obtained, how much work was actually completed, the quality of the executed portion and the movement of the funds paid for materials.
Assistant Police Inspector Jitendra Khairnar is conducting the further investigation. The report did not provide details of arrests, the airport authority’s response, or the status of the construction work after the alleged abandonment.
