A suspected explosion at the Vasundhara police outpost under Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram police station injured a delivery worker and damaged two windows and part of a wall late on November 6, prompting an investigation by the Ghaziabad Police, Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad and forensic teams.
Ghaziabad Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Gaur said the police received information about the blast at around 9 pm near the rear wall of the outpost. A sub-inspector and a delivery worker were present at the site at the time. The police commissioner and senior officers subsequently visited the location as investigators began collecting evidence.
According to the police account cited by Live Hindustan, no police personnel were injured. The delivery worker suffered a minor head injury after being struck by a piece of broken glass and was taken to hospital. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rijul Kumar said the worker was later reported to be fully recovered.
The blast broke the glass panes of two windows and caused cracks in part of the outpost’s wall. The force of the incident also caused panic in the surrounding area, although no other major damage was reported in the supplied account.
Bomb-disposal, forensic and field teams reached the site and collected samples for examination. Police officials said the samples had been sent for investigation. A dog squad also searched the location.
The police said no gunpowder, explosive substance or similar material had been found at the site so far. The cause of the blast has not been established, and officials said all possible angles were being examined before a conclusion could be reached.
A group identified in the report as Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan claimed responsibility for the incident through a social media post. Police have not officially confirmed the claim and are examining the post as part of the investigation. The involvement of any organisation therefore remains unestablished.
The case has brought multiple agencies to the police outpost, including Ghaziabad Police, the Uttar Pradesh ATS, intelligence officials, the bomb squad and forensic teams. Their immediate task is to determine what caused the blast, establish whether any explosive material was involved and assess the significance of the damage and the online claim.
The police commissioner said the cause would be clear only after the investigation reports are received. Until then, officials have not classified the incident as either an accident or a deliberate act.
