A 25-year-old private employee died in Hyderabad’s Jawaharnagar after iron sheets being carried on an auto trolley shifted during a turn and pierced his neck and shoulder while he was riding a two-wheeler, police said.
The deceased was identified as K. Bharat Goud, a resident of Kadaverugu village in Siddipet district who was living with his family in Balaji Nagar. The incident occurred at around 7 pm on Wednesday while he was travelling from Yapral towards Balaji Nagar.
According to the police, the auto trolley was carrying a load of iron sheets when it took a left turn near a speed breaker. The sheets reportedly shifted backwards during the manoeuvre and struck Bharat, causing severe injuries to his neck and shoulder.
Bharat was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, according to the report.
The incident highlights the immediate danger that unsecured or improperly loaded construction materials can pose to two-wheeler riders and other road users in residential and mixed-traffic areas. Iron sheets can extend beyond a vehicle’s body and become hazardous when a load shifts during turns, braking or movement over speed breakers. The police account, however, does not provide details on the trolley’s loading arrangements or whether any safety provisions were in place.
The route between Yapral and Balaji Nagar includes local residential movement and mixed road traffic, bringing two-wheelers into close proximity with goods-carrying vehicles. The report did not specify whether the auto trolley had been stopped at the scene, whether a case had been registered under particular sections, or whether any arrests had been made.
Jawaharnagar police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. Further details about the vehicle, its driver and the handling of the iron-sheet load are expected as the investigation progresses.
