Telangana’s electronics manufacturing push received a fresh boost near Hyderabad with the inauguration of a ₹200 crore facility in E-City, Tukkuguda, where homegrown consumer electronics brand Mivi plans to manufacture up to five lakh earbuds and 75,000 soundbars a month.
Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility on Saturday and said Telangana aimed to become one of India’s leading electronics manufacturing destinations. The Minister’s office said the State was prioritising technology, innovation and manufacturing while strengthening the wider industrial ecosystem.
The facility has been backed by an investment of ₹200 crore from Avishakaran Industries, the company behind Mivi. The company said around 2,500 people are employed at the facility. Its production capacity covers five lakh earbuds and 75,000 soundbars every month, adding to Telangana’s manufacturing base in consumer electronics.
According to the Minister’s office, Telangana’s manufacturing sector grew 7.7% in 2025–26 and the manufacturing sub-sector contributed ₹1.37 lakh crore to the State’s Gross State Value Added. The figures were cited as evidence of the sector’s growing role in the State economy.
Mr. Sridhar Babu said the government was working to strengthen electronics manufacturing clusters and hardware parks under the Telangana Rising–2047 vision. The State also intends to expand its presence in chip design, semiconductor manufacturing and electronic component production, according to the release issued by his office.
The government’s stated objective is to attract companies across the electronics value chain, ranging from research and product design to component manufacturing and finished products. It also plans to connect local industries with global supply chains, a move that would broaden the role of Telangana’s industrial areas beyond final assembly and consumer-facing production.
The new facility is part of Mivi’s expansion from an audio-focused brand into a broader consumer electronics company. The company said it had more recently entered the smartphone segment and aimed to develop a wider portfolio of technology products for Indian consumers while competing with international brands.
Mivi co-founders Midhula Devabhaktuni and Viswanadh Kandula said the inauguration marked an important milestone as the company completed ten years. They said the company would continue investing in innovation and developing products for Indian consumers.
The facility’s inauguration places employment, industrial land and supply-chain integration at the centre of Telangana’s electronics strategy. The next stage of the State’s plan will involve building out the proposed clusters and hardware parks while attracting firms involved in design, components, semiconductors and finished products.
