Delhi Traffic Advisory: 10 Routes Face Restrictions for Unity Run

Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory warning commuters of traffic restrictions and diversions on several key New Delhi roads from 3:30 am to 9 am on Saturday, October 31, during the Run for Unity organised for National Unity Day.

The run will begin at Gate No. 1 of Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. According to the advisory reported by Live Hindustan – NCR, participants will move towards C-Hexagon, turn right and proceed along the radial road in front of Shahjahan Road before finishing near the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The affected junctions and routes include Bhagwan Das Road Crossing, Purana Qila Road–Mathura Road Crossing, Sher Shah Road–Mathura Road Crossing, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg–Subramaniam Bharti Marg Crossing, Pandara Road–Subramaniam Bharti Marg Crossing, Q-Point, Man Singh Road Roundabout, Jaswant Singh Road Roundabout, Ferozeshah Road–Kasturba Gandhi Marg Crossing and the Mandi House–Copernicus Marg Roundabout.

The traffic police has advised people to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes wherever possible. Commuters have also been asked to avoid unnecessary travel around Astha Kunj Park, Nehru Place and nearby roads during the event, where congestion may develop because of the movement of participants and traffic controls.

The advisory asks motorists not to park along roads near the event venue or at unauthorised locations. Drivers have been told to follow directions issued by traffic personnel, comply with diversions and obey traffic signals. The police has also advised commuters to leave with additional travel time to account for restrictions and changing road conditions.

The diversions will be implemented according to ground conditions and security requirements, the advisory said. Emergency vehicle movement will be kept unrestricted during the event, while traffic arrangements may be adjusted on the ground depending on the situation.

The traffic police has asked commuters to monitor its real-time updates before and during their journeys. Updates are available through the Delhi Traffic Police website and its official accounts on Facebook, Instagram and X. The advisory is intended to help road users avoid the event corridor and adjust their travel plans during the early-morning restrictions.
