The Delhi Traffic Police has announced road restrictions and diversions around Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30 for Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour concert, with traffic controls scheduled from 1 pm until midnight and commuters advised to use the Metro.
The advisory covers more than 11 roads and includes eight designated diversion points in the area around the stadium. Restrictions may affect Bhishm Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg between Defence Colony flyover and Lodhi Colony flyover, Arch Bishop Marg and Fourth Avenue Road.
Traffic movement towards Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium gates 1 and 3 to 7, as well as the Kotla Mubarakpur flyover, may be restricted at designated points. Dayal Singh College Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Marg, internal roads in Lodhi Colony and roads surrounding the venue are also expected to experience changes in movement.
The traffic police said additional diversions could be introduced depending on traffic conditions during the event. Commuters have been asked to allow extra travel time, follow directions from personnel deployed on the roads and avoid stopping or parking in restricted areas.
The advisory recommends that concertgoers use the Delhi Metro to reach the stadium. Passengers travelling on the Violet Line can use JLN Stadium or Jangpura stations. Those using the Yellow Line can get off at INA or Jor Bagh and continue towards the designated drop-off points.
Cabs, auto-rickshaws and other ride-hailing services will be permitted to pick up and drop off passengers only at designated locations. Roadside parking and halting will not be allowed, and there will be no parking for the general public at or around the stadium.
Limited parking has been arranged for special invitees at Sunehri Pula Bus Depot and Dayal Singh College. The arrangement has been made by the event organisers, according to the advisory.
The traffic police has also said emergency and medical vehicles will receive priority to maintain obstruction-free passage. Members of the public have been asked to report unattended objects or suspicious activity to the nearest police personnel.
The restrictions will remain in force from 1 pm to midnight on October 30, with traffic arrangements subject to changes based on conditions around the venue.
