Hyderabad Gains Agilisium’s Asia Headquarters as Life Sciences Push Grows

Agilisium, a life sciences company, has announced plans to shift its Asia headquarters to Hyderabad, strengthening the city’s position as a base for technology-led life sciences businesses, the company said in a release reported by Deccan Chronicle.

The planned relocation was described by the company as a commitment to building intellectual property, developing specialised talent and delivering technology services for global life sciences operations. Agilisium founder and chief executive officer Raj Babu said India had demonstrated its ability to build globally competitive technology businesses and that the next opportunity was to combine this capability with scientific expertise, industry knowledge and proprietary intellectual property.

“India has proven its ability to build globally competitive technology businesses. The next opportunity is to combine this strength with scientific expertise, deep industry knowledge and proprietary IP to transform global industries,” Babu said.

The company’s chief operating officer and chief AI and innovation officer, Arun Kumar, said Agilisium was investing in talent, proprietary artificial intelligence platforms and delivery models. He said the planned relocation of the Asia headquarters to Hyderabad would strengthen the company’s commitment to building differentiated intellectual property and generating measurable business value.

Agilisium entered the life sciences sector in 2018 and has since developed capabilities across research and drug discovery, clinical development, manufacturing and commercial operations, according to the company. Its stated areas of work cover multiple stages of the life sciences value chain rather than a single technology or business function.

The announcement places Hyderabad at the centre of Agilisium’s planned regional operations, although the company has not disclosed the proposed location of the headquarters, the relocation timeline, the size of the facility or the number of employees expected to be based there. The available announcement also does not specify whether the move will involve a new office, an expansion of existing operations or a transfer of personnel from another Asian location.

For Hyderabad’s urban economy, the announcement is relevant because it links corporate expansion with the city’s technology and life sciences ecosystem. However, the company’s release does not provide details on capital expenditure, recruitment targets, office space requirements or any infrastructure commitments associated with the relocation. The direct effect on employment, commercial real estate demand and local service networks therefore cannot yet be quantified from the information available.

Agilisium said it was on track to close 2026 with revenue of between $72 million and $75 million. The figure was provided as a company projection and was not accompanied in the announcement by a detailed breakdown of regional revenue, Hyderabad operations or the expected contribution from the planned headquarters.

The next confirmed step is the company’s planned relocation of its Asia headquarters to Hyderabad. Further details on timing, facilities, staffing and operational scale have not yet been announced.
