A fire broke out in an electrical panel on the ground floor of a building housing an IVF centre in Lucknow’s Indira Nagar area on Monday afternoon, damaging the front portion of a parked Volvo car but causing no casualties.
The Lucknow fire department said its Indira Nagar Fire Station control room received an alert at 4.06 pm. A firefighting unit was dispatched immediately and found flames in an electrical panel on the ground floor of the building.
Firefighters used buckets and a hose reel to control the blaze. The fire was completely extinguished within a short time, according to the department.
The ground floor of the building houses the IVF centre, while the first floor is used as a residential area. The incident therefore involved a building combining a healthcare-related facility with residential use, although the report did not indicate that the fire spread beyond the electrical panel.
A Volvo parked near the panel sustained damage to its front portion. No injuries or deaths were reported, and the fire department did not report any further property damage in the available account.
The incident highlights the immediate risks posed by electrical faults in buildings where commercial or healthcare activity operates alongside residential occupancy. However, the available report does not establish the cause of the electrical-panel fire, whether the building’s electrical systems had recently been inspected, or whether any fire-safety violation was identified.
The fire department’s response ended with the blaze being brought under control at the site. No further official action or investigation details were provided in the report.
