Noida Construction Worker Dies After Fall at Sorkha Housing Site

A 25-year-old construction worker died after falling from a tower at an under-construction residential society in Sorkha village, Sector 115, Noida, during the intervening night of October 22 and 23, police said. The deceased was identified as Javed, a resident of Uttar Dinajpur district in West Bengal.

Police from Sector 113 police station reached the site after receiving information through Dial-112. The worker was reportedly seriously injured in the fall and later died. The police team inspected the location and began the required legal procedures.

Javed, son of Amiru Haq, was originally from the Maulani area of Uttar Dinajpur. He was working at the housing society as a foreman and labour in-charge, according to the report. His role involved responsibility at the construction site, but the circumstances that led to the fall have not been established in the information available.

Police prepared the inquest documentation and sent the body for post-mortem examination. The examination is expected to provide further information related to the death. Police said other necessary action in the matter was continuing.

The incident brings renewed attention to safety arrangements at construction sites, particularly for workers operating at height. Residential projects in expanding urban areas depend heavily on migrant construction labour, while the safety of workers is shaped by site supervision, protective equipment, access controls and compliance with construction standards. The available report does not state whether any safety equipment was being used at the time of the incident or whether any negligence has been established.

The death occurred at the Ivory County residential society in Sorkha, an under-construction housing project in Noida’s Sector 115. No statement from the project developer or details of any regulatory inspection were included in the report. The next formal development is expected to follow the post-mortem examination and the police action based on its findings.
