Delhi Traffic Advisory Warns of Diversions Near Jantar Mantar

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a Delhi traffic advisory ahead of a protest march from Bangla Sahib Gurudwara to Jantar Mantar on Friday, warning commuters of diversions and possible congestion across central Delhi between 1pm and 5pm.

The march is being organised by a left-wing organisation and will pass through areas including Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Connaught Place, Parliament Street and Jantar Mantar. The traffic restrictions and diversion arrangements will remain in effect during the four-hour period, according to the advisory reported by the Times of India.

The affected locations include some of central Delhi’s busiest roads and commercial areas. Connaught Place is a major destination for offices, retail, hospitality and public transport connections, while Parliament Street and Jantar Mantar regularly host public gatherings and demonstrations. Traffic movement in these areas may therefore be affected while the march is underway.

The Delhi Traffic Police has asked commuters to avoid unnecessary travel near the affected roads during the specified period. Motorists who need to travel through central Delhi have been advised to plan their journeys in advance, allow additional time and use alternative routes wherever feasible.

Commuters have also been asked to follow diversion signs and instructions issued by traffic personnel deployed in the area. The police has urged motorists to remain patient, comply with traffic rules and cooperate with officers managing movement around Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Connaught Place, Parliament Street and Jantar Mantar.

The advisory is intended to help limit congestion and maintain traffic movement while the protest march takes place. The police has requested road users to follow directions on the ground rather than attempting to enter restricted or diverted stretches.

For commuters travelling through central Delhi on Friday afternoon, the main operational impact will be the need to avoid the march route between 1pm and 5pm or allow extra time for the journey. The Delhi Traffic Police has not specified in the supplied advisory how long any post-march traffic effects may continue.
