Southern Railway has announced a temporary revision in the coach composition of the Charminar Express trains running between Hyderabad and Tambaram. This change, aimed at improving passenger comfort and operational efficiency, will be in effect for a limited period from November 11 to December 1.
Train number 12760, which operates from Hyderabad to Tambaram, will feature the modified coach setup from November 11 to 30. Meanwhile, the reversed route, train number 12759 (Tambaram to Hyderabad), will follow the new coach configuration from November 12 to December 1. The temporary adjustments to the coach composition are designed to better accommodate passengers during this period. The new layout will include a mix of different coach types to cater to a broad spectrum of travel needs. Specifically, the train will be equipped with 1 AC First Class cum AC Two-Tier coach, 3 AC Two-Tier coaches, 6 AC Three-Tier coaches, 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 2 General Second Class coaches, and 1 Divyangjan-friendly Second Class coach. Additionally, the train will also have 1 luggage-cum-brake van to ensure smoother operations. These modifications are expected to help the Southern Railway manage passenger flow more effectively, particularly during high-demand periods in the festive season, when travel volumes typically surge. The inclusion of a Divyangjan-friendly coach aligns with the railway’s ongoing efforts to make trains more accessible to differently-abled passengers, contributing to inclusivity in travel.
However, while the temporary changes have been put in place to address immediate operational concerns, passengers are encouraged to remain updated on any further alterations to the train schedule.
