The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority has extended the deadline for applications to its Pune Board housing lottery to October 22 after delays in verifying domicile and income certificates left thousands of applicants awaiting clearance. The extension is the second granted for the schemes, which are intended to support social and inclusive housing in Pune.
The previous deadline was October 15. Applicants can now submit online applications under MHADA Pune Board’s 15% Social Housing and 20% Inclusive Housing schemes until October 22, according to Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, chairman of the MHADA Pune Board.
The authority said the extension was required because 3,872 domicile certificates and 2,142 income certificates were still awaiting verification. These documents form part of the eligibility process for applicants seeking to participate in the lottery.
The application process has attracted substantial demand. A total of 1,65,028 applicants have registered so far, while 1,01,811 applicants have paid the application deposit, Patil said. The figures indicate that certificate processing remains a significant operational task as the deadline approaches.
Under the Pune Board’s lottery process, applicants are required to complete online registration and meet the applicable eligibility conditions for the housing schemes. The 15% Social Housing and 20% Inclusive Housing categories are the focus of the current application window.
The repeated extension places the verification process at the centre of the lottery’s next stage. Applicants whose domicile or income certificates remain pending will have additional time before the revised deadline, while the authority will need to complete the outstanding checks before finalising the eligible applicant pool.
The extended deadline is October 22. MHADA’s Pune Board has not announced any further deadline beyond that date in the information provided.
