Senior Living Gets a New ₹40-Crore Address in Trichy

Vedaanta Senior Living has launched Vedaanta Dakshin, a ₹40 crore senior living community in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, with 179 homes spread across 12.9 acres. The Bengaluru-based company said the multi-phase development is designed around independent living, community interaction and access to support services for older residents.

The homes range from 967 to 1,200 square feet. The project also includes Premium Villas of 1,500 to 1,800 square feet and Signature Villas measuring between 2,100 and 2,400 square feet. Prices start at ₹50 lakh, according to a company statement reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.

The development is planned as a community-oriented residential campus rather than a standalone housing project. Its facilities include a 9,000-square-foot clubhouse, an extended clubhouse verandah, central courtyards, shaded gathering areas and a garden pavilion. These spaces are intended to support community events, shared activities and informal interactions among residents.

“Our aim is to create an environment where seniors can enjoy independence, build relationships and access support when they need it,” Shreya Anand, Director, Vedaanta Senior Living, said in the statement.

The company said the project’s community model is centred on creating opportunities for residents to connect and participate in shared experiences. The layout combines private homes with common facilities and gathering spaces, reflecting the growing use of managed community formats within senior housing.

Vedaanta Dakshin is being developed in multiple phases. The announcement did not specify the construction schedule, possession timeline, operating model for healthcare or the number of homes to be delivered in each phase. It also did not provide details on the project’s approvals, staffing arrangements or the range of support services that will be available to residents.

The launch comes as senior living projects increasingly combine residential accommodation with shared amenities and organised community activities. In this format, the built environment is planned not only around the size and type of individual homes but also around accessibility, social interaction and spaces where residents can gather.

For prospective residents, the project’s stated offering includes a choice of home sizes and villa formats, with the entry price positioned at ₹50 lakh. The clubhouse, courtyards, shaded areas and pavilion form the main shared infrastructure announced as part of the community.

The company has not disclosed the expected occupancy, the final investment committed beyond the announced ₹40 crore project cost or whether additional phases will expand the community after the planned 179 homes. Further details are expected as the multi-phase development progresses.
