Haleangadi Railway Crossing Faces Overnight Closure for Road Repairs

The Haleangadi railway crossing in Mulki will remain closed to vehicle traffic overnight from 8pm on October 1 to 8am on October 2 as Konkan Railway carries out road improvement work at Level Crossing 89, affecting the link between Indiranagar and National Highway 66 in Dakshina Kannada.

Konkan Railway has ordered the temporary suspension of traffic as a precaution while rubberised pavers are installed at the crossing, located at kilometre 727/1-2 within its railway jurisdiction. The work is intended to improve the road surface at the level crossing.

The closure will affect motorists travelling through Haleangadi towards Thokur and Kinnigoli. During the 12-hour work period, drivers have been advised to use alternative routes through Kallapu.

The crossing connects Indiranagar with National Highway 66 and serves as a local link for traffic moving towards settlements and roads around Thokur and Kinnigoli. The temporary restriction is being imposed to allow the maintenance work to be completed without vehicle movement through the work zone.

Konkan Railway has asked road users to plan their journeys around the closure and follow the alternative-route direction during the specified period. Traffic is scheduled to resume at 8am on October 2, after the road improvement work window ends.
