Bengaluru authorities are preparing to deport 160 Bangladeshi nationals from shelters and holding facilities in Bengaluru, Chikkamagaluru and Gadag in a coordinated operation led by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office and law enforcement agencies.
A dedicated flight carrying the group is scheduled to leave Bengaluru at 9am on Monday. After reaching the designated border region, police are expected to hand over the detainees to a Border Security Force battalion to complete the deportation process, according to the report.
The operation involves police divisions across the city and Karnataka districts. FRRO directives required personnel to secure, escort and manage the movement of the group from designated shelter homes and holding facilities to the airport. Officials said security forces remained on high alert through Sunday night to coordinate the transfers and maintain security during the operation.
The majority of those being deported were apprehended in Bengaluru precincts, including Bellanduru, Beguru, Varthuru, Bandepalya and Marathahalli. Seven people from Chikkamagaluru and Gadag are also included in the group, according to officials cited in the report.
