Mumbai local train services between Palsadari and Khopoli will be suspended for three hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for two months as Central Railway carries out infrastructure work on the route. The special traffic and power block will begin in the intervening night of September 18 and 19, with changes affecting late-night services from Mumbai, Karjat and Khopoli.
The block will be imposed from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on the three designated nights each week. During this period, suburban services between Palsadari and Khopoli will not be available, according to information issued by Central Railway.
The changes mean that the last Mumbai-bound service before the block will be the local departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 10.57 pm for Khopoli. The local scheduled to leave Khopoli for Karjat at 12.30 am has been cancelled during the block period.
A service leaving CSMT for Khopoli at 11.18 pm on Wednesday nights will run only up to Karjat. Central Railway has also identified the local departing from Khopoli for Karjat at 11.20 pm as the last service from Khopoli before the block begins.
Services will resume after the night work. The first Karjat–Khopoli local after the block is scheduled to depart at 5.43 am, while the first Khopoli–CSMT local will leave Khopoli at 4.50 am. The revised timings will apply on the nights covered by the recurring block.
The work will affect passengers travelling late at night between the Mumbai suburban network and Khopoli, as well as early-morning commuters relying on the first services from the station. Commuters using the affected trains will need to account for the earlier last service from CSMT and the gap in operations between Khopoli and Karjat during the block.
Central Railway has scheduled the work over a two-month period, with the traffic and power block being implemented during the overnight maintenance window on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
