Police rescued a couple and their two young daughters from the Versova bridge on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway after receiving information that the family was at risk, according to a report citing the Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar police. The police control room received information that a couple had reached the bridge with their two children. Beat Marshal 4 personnel, police head constable Kokare and police constable Mohite, were sent to the location immediately. After searching the area, the officers found the family at 2.18 am and brought them to safety.
The family lives in the Shanti Park area of Mira Road East. The 28-year-old father works as a delivery worker. Police said the family was facing financial difficulties and domestic pressure connected to money borrowed several months earlier after pledging gold belonging to the man’s sister.
