Muppas Road near Rajapushpa Provincia in Narsingi remains unfinished and uneven, leaving motorists, pedestrians and nearby residents dealing with dust, loose gravel and waterlogging during the monsoon, according to residents and a civic engineering official quoted in a report by Times of India – Hyderabad.
The road carries a steady flow of two-wheelers, autorickshaws and cars, but large portions of the stretch do not have a proper surface. Construction activity and loose soil along the road cause vehicles to raise clouds of dust, making it difficult for commuters and pedestrians to move through the area, residents said.
The situation becomes more difficult during rain, when uneven sections collect water and turn muddy. Durgesh Singh, a pan shop owner near the road, said the lack of an even surface made it harder for two-wheeler riders to maintain balance. The waterlogged and rough sections also leave vehicles negotiating loose gravel and damaged edges.
Pedestrian movement is another concern on the stretch. Suraj Prabhu, who frequently uses the road, said there was little space for people to walk separately from moving traffic. Residents said pedestrians are forced to use the same narrow stretch as vehicles, particularly creating difficulties when traffic increases in the evening.
The road’s condition has also raised concerns about the impact of further development and commercial activity in the area. Residents said the road is already narrow and traffic is difficult to manage. They have urged the civic authorities to consider widening the road before additional commercial activity increases the pressure on the existing carriageway.
An executive engineer from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s engineering wing said the area had seen infrastructure development over the year, while road works were yet to be completed. The official said a team would be sent to inspect the situation and take up the pending work.
Residents have asked the civic authorities to complete the road surface and improve the stretch before continued rain and construction activity make movement more difficult. The proposed inspection is the next stated step, but no completion timeline for the road work was provided in the report.
