Suzlon has secured a 200 MW wind energy order from Ayana Renewable Power Ltd for a project in Madhya Pradesh, the renewable energy equipment maker said on Tuesday. The project will involve 64 of Suzlon’s S144 wind turbines and will connect the generated power to the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd (MPPCL) state grid.
The order is Suzlon’s third devco-led wind project across Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, according to a company statement reported by Business Standard. A devco-led order uses an integrated development model in which the renewable energy supplier manages the project from early-stage site development through construction.
The project will be executed at Limbawas in Madhya Pradesh. Each S144 turbine has a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. Suzlon said its flagship 3.x MW platform has now crossed the 10 GW milestone, based on the total capacity represented by orders for the platform.
Suzlon will deliver the project through its comprehensive engineering, procurement and construction offering. The scope covers turbine supply, land acquisition, balance-of-plant work, a pooling substation, an extra-high-voltage transmission line, commissioning, and operations and maintenance services.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of Suzlon Group, said Madhya Pradesh had more than 55 GW of wind potential at a height of 150 metres. He described the state as being positioned to support the next phase of India’s wind-energy growth and said Suzlon had won two consecutive wind orders from the state.
The company said the latest project also reflects its integrated approach to developing renewable energy assets. Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, said the company had secured four wind orders across two states in a short period and that its end-to-end capabilities were creating new business opportunities.
For Ayana Renewable Power, the project marks the company’s entry into wind energy generation in Madhya Pradesh. Lakshmi Narayanan B, the company’s Head of Business Development, said Ayana would work with Suzlon to deliver the project and contribute to India’s clean-energy transition.
The announcement does not specify the project’s construction schedule, commissioning date, investment value or the expected annual electricity generation. The next implementation steps will involve the development and construction activities covered under Suzlon’s EPC scope, including land acquisition, grid-related infrastructure and turbine installation.
