Devaraj Urs Corporation Schemes Set September 30 Deadline

The Devaraj Urs Corporation schemes for irrigation, education and self-employment will accept online applications for the 2026-27 financial year until September 30, according to officials of the Karnataka-based corporation.

The schemes cover small and marginal farmers, unemployed young people, students pursuing professional courses and eligible members of backward classes. Applications can be submitted online through the Seva Sindhu platform. Applicants must have an active bank account linked to their Aadhaar, and their name must match across their Aadhaar card, caste and income certificates and bank passbook.

Under the Ganga Kalyana irrigation programme, eligible small and marginal farmers from backward classes can seek support for irrigation facilities on their land. The individual borewell scheme has a total unit cost of ₹3.75 lakh. Where the unit cannot be completed, a loan of ₹50,000 will be provided at an interest rate of 4%. Applicants must own at least one acre of land. Annual family income must be within ₹98,000 for rural residents and ₹1.20 lakh for urban residents.

The corporation is also offering assistance under its self-employment personal loan scheme. Eligible unemployed people from backward-class categories 1, 2A, 3A and 3B can seek financial support for agriculture-related activities, trade, industry, transport and services. Assistance is available for projects costing up to ₹2 lakh. For loans up to ₹1 lakh, the subsidy is 20%, capped at ₹20,000. For loans between ₹1.01 lakh and ₹2 lakh, the subsidy ranges from a minimum of ₹20,000 to a maximum of ₹30,000, while the remaining amount can be obtained directly from the corporation at 4% interest.

Applicants for the self-employment loan scheme must be aged between 18 and 55 years. The annual family income limit is ₹98,000 in rural areas and ₹1.20 lakh in urban areas. The corporation has also invited applications under the Swavalambi Sarathi scheme, which provides a subsidy of 50% of the unit cost approved by banks for the purchase of a four-wheeler, subject to a maximum of ₹3 lakh. Applicants must belong to the specified backward-class categories, be aged between 21 and 45 years and hold a light motor vehicle driving licence.

Under the Arivu educational loan scheme, students from all eligible backward-class categories who have secured admission through CET, NEET or other selection processes can seek assistance for professional courses, including engineering, medicine and dentistry. The scheme covers 28 professional courses. Loans of ₹1 lakh per year can be provided for the course period, with the total assistance ranging from ₹4 lakh to ₹5 lakh, at an annual interest rate of 2%. The applicant and family must have an annual income of no more than ₹3.50 lakh, and the applicant must be below 30 years of age.

Students who received an Arivu loan in an earlier year and are continuing their studies can apply for the second and subsequent instalments by submitting marks cards for the previous two semesters, a current-year study certificate and the consent letter of a guarantor or parent. The corporation has also included a sewing-machine distribution scheme for poor families belonging to the eligible backward-class categories. Applicants must be between 18 and 55 years old.

People who have already benefited from any corporation scheme, as well as members of their families, are not eligible to apply again. Applicants who applied during 2024-25 or 2025-26 but did not receive assistance do not need to submit a fresh application, according to the information issued by the corporation. The September 30 deadline applies to applications submitted through Seva Sindhu for the listed 2026-27 schemes.
