Thane Ashram Schools Begin Verification for 424 Teacher Posts
Document verification has begun for 424 candidates selected for teaching posts in government-run ashram schools in the Thane division, as Maharashtra’s Tribal Development Department moves to fill vacancies across its residential school network. The verification process started on Thursday and is scheduled to continue until Saturday, September 5.
The candidates were selected through the Pavitra portal without interviews. Their educational and professional qualification documents are being examined as part of the recruitment process for teaching positions in schools administered by the Tribal Development Department. Candidates have been instructed to bring original certificates and self-attested photocopies of all documents required under the recruitment advertisement.
The state-wide recruitment drive covers 2,421 vacant teaching posts in government ashram schools located in PESA and non-PESA areas. Of these, the Education Commissionerate has supplied a list of eligible candidates for 1,600 posts covering primary, secondary and higher secondary teachers. The list includes 927 primary teacher posts, 421 secondary teacher posts and 252 higher secondary teacher posts.
Among the 1,600 candidates on the eligibility list, 459 are from PESA areas and 1,141 are from non-PESA areas. Document verification is being conducted through the offices of four additional commissioners across the state. The Thane division’s share of the process involves the verification of documents submitted by 424 candidates.
The recruitment is intended to address teacher shortages in government ashram schools, which provide residential education to students, particularly in tribal-dominated and geographically remote areas. The department said that filling vacant positions would increase teacher availability and support the delivery of regular education in these schools.
Candidates must report at the designated venue on the date and time specified in the published schedule. The department has stated that candidates who fail to attend at the prescribed time will bear responsibility for their absence. The required documents include the original educational and professional certificates declared on the Pavitra portal, along with the self-attested copies specified in the recruitment notice.
The detailed list of eligible candidates and the document-verification schedule have been published on the official website of the Tribal Development Department. Candidates have been asked to check the department’s website regularly for updates and to attend verification at the assigned location within the specified time.
Tribal Development Department Commissioner Leena Bansod said the schedule had been issued after the Education Commissionerate provided the list of candidates who had cleared the required professional eligibility criteria. The department’s next step is to complete document verification for the listed candidates before proceeding with the remaining stages of the recruitment process.
