Bengaluru: A 37-year-old woman died after falling from a two-wheeler and being run over by a concrete mixer lorry on Varthur Main Road on Saturday afternoon, police said. The incident occurred at about 1.30 pm, and the woman succumbed to her injuries early on Sunday at a private hospital.
According to the HAL Airport Traffic Police, the woman, identified as Soumya, was riding pillion on a two-wheeler when she fell onto the road. A concrete mixer lorry travelling along the same stretch subsequently ran over her, causing grievous injuries.
She was taken to a private hospital for treatment after the crash. Police said she died at about 1.30 am on Sunday, several hours after being admitted. The report did not provide details about the condition of the two-wheeler rider or whether other people were injured in the incident.
