The four-lane elevated structure, proposed along Garhi Road near Sector 37D, is expected to significantly ease daily commuting delays for residents and improve regional connectivity in one of the fastest-growing residential clusters of the National Capital Region. Urban infrastructure officials say the project aims to resolve long-standing congestion caused by the existing railway level crossing, which regularly disrupts vehicle movement when trains pass through the corridor. Thousands of households in surrounding residential sectors rely on the route for access to major transport links, including the rapidly developing Dwarka Expressway.
The planned Gurugram rail over bridge will connect residential neighbourhoods such as Sectors 37C and 37D with nearby urban corridors while providing uninterrupted passage over the railway track. The area has seen a steady rise in population due to new housing developments and expanding urban infrastructure, making improved mobility solutions increasingly urgent. City planners indicate that the project has undergone a design revision to accommodate future traffic demand. Initial planning considered a two-lane structure, but authorities later expanded the proposal to a four-lane bridge after consultations with railway authorities and urban mobility experts.
