The MLR Institute of Technology (MLRIT) celebrated its 21st Traditional Day with colourful performances and cultural fervour on its campus, reaffirming its commitment to preserving India’s diverse traditions.Organised by the institution’s CAME Club, the celebrations brought together students, faculty and management in a vibrant display of music, dance and regional customs. The annual event has become a key cultural fixture on the college calendar, encouraging students from varied backgrounds to express their heritage and foster unity through shared traditions.

Students presented an array of performances, including classical and contemporary dance routines, melodious singing segments and an energetic dandiya celebration. The performances reflected India’s cultural mosaic, with participants dressed in traditional attire representing different states and communities. The campus atmosphere resonated with enthusiasm as students highlighted the theme of “unity in diversity”.Addressing the gathering, Marri Raja Shekar Reddy, MLA of Malkajgiri and Founder Secretary of MLRIT, underscored the importance of cultural awareness among youth. He noted that students at the institution come from varied social and regional backgrounds, and events like Traditional Day provide a meaningful platform to celebrate and understand the richness of India’s heritage.

Management representatives emphasised that technical education must be complemented by cultural grounding and social responsibility. They said such events help nurture confidence, teamwork and respect for diversity — qualities essential for holistic development in a competitive global environment.Among those present were Director, MLR Group, Anushreya Reddy; Vice Chairman, MLR Group, Marri Dhiren Reddy; and Principal, MLRIT, Dr V Radhika Devi, along with Heads of Departments and faculty members. Speakers appreciated the students’ enthusiastic participation and commended the organising team for ensuring the event’s smooth execution.
