YEIDA Link Road Plan Targets Faster Airport Access for 13 Sectors

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has begun acquiring land for a 5-km link road between Sector 22E and Phaileda Cut in Greater Noida, a project intended to improve access to Noida International Airport for around 13 planned sectors on the eastern side of the Yamuna Expressway.

The proposed YEIDA link road will connect the 120-metre-wide road in Sector 22E with the airport connectivity corridor of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Phaileda Cut. The route is expected to improve movement for residents, students and employees in residential, institutional and industrial areas under YEIDA’s jurisdiction.

Sector 22E is designated as an institutional zone, where private universities and other educational institutions are being developed. The new connection is also expected to improve links between the area’s institutional and industrial zones and the airport corridor.

The 120-metre-wide road is part of YEIDA’s planned road network on the eastern side of the Yamuna Expressway. It is designed to run from the Salapur underpass towards the proposed Khurja-Palwal Expressway, creating a wider connection between planned sectors and regional transport routes.

Around 8 km of the road between the Salapur underpass and Sector 22E has already been constructed. However, some stretches remain incomplete because of land disputes. YEIDA is working to complete these sections while pursuing land acquisition for the additional stretch towards Phaileda Cut.

“Land is being acquired for the road. Once it is completed, the industrial, institutional and residential sectors on the eastern side will have better connectivity to Noida International Airport,” said Rajendra Bhati, general manager (planning), YEIDA.

The proposed link is expected to serve Sectors 24, 24A, 25, 22A to 22F and 23A to 23E. These sectors form part of the planned development areas along the eastern side of the expressway, where residential, institutional and industrial activity is being expanded.

YEIDA is also planning connections between its 120-metre-wide and 130-metre-wide roads and the Khurja-Palwal Expressway. The authority said these links are intended to strengthen peripheral connectivity and improve movement between sectors across the region.

The immediate milestone for the 5-km project is the completion of land acquisition and the resolution of pending land-related issues affecting connected road sections.
