Western Railway block on May 26 and 27 to affect Gujarat trains

Passengers on Western Railway routes passing through Gujarat may face delays and cancellations as a two-hour operational block is scheduled for 26 and 27 May 2025.

The block, announced by Western Railway, will allow for the launching of a composite girder for a new Road Over Bridge (ROB) between Atul and Valsad stations and the dismantling of an old Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Navsari station on the Mumbai Central Division. According to Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the block will impact both UP and Down Main Lines, causing temporary disruptions to several trains. Two MEMU services have been cancelled for both days: Train No. 69153 Umbergaon Road–Valsad and Train No. 69154 Valsad–Umbergaon Road.

Additionally, multiple long-distance trains will be regulated, with delays ranging from 20 minutes to nearly two hours. On 26 May, affected services include Dadar–Porbandar Express, Paschim Express, Gujarat Superfast Express, and Jhansi–Bandra Terminus Superfast Express, with delays from 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. On 27 May, services including Mumbai–Delhi AC Special, Tuticorin–Okha Express, and Jammu Tawi–Bandra Terminus Express will face similar delays. The Paschim Express and Gujarat Superfast Express are set to be delayed on both days, depending on their respective departure times.

The block is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving rail connectivity and passenger safety across key stations in Gujarat. Western Railway has advised passengers to check train statuses before travelling and plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
