Indian Railways has suspended and rescheduled several train services in Rajasthan. The North Western Railway (NWR) zone announced these changes citing “blackout and emergency situations” affecting rail traffic.

These adjustments come amid heightened security measures following India’s launch of “Operation Sindoor,” targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The operation was in retaliation for a deadly terrorist attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir that claimed 26 lives. In response, Pakistan has conducted retaliatory strikes, leading to increased military activity along the border. Reports indicate that Pakistani forces have targeted areas in Rajasthan, including Jaisalmer and Barmer, with drone and missile attacks.
The Rajasthan state government has heightened alert levels, sealing borders with Pakistan and activating anti-drone systems in vulnerable regions. Evacuation plans are in place for border villages, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation. The Indian Railways’ decision to cancel and reschedule train services is a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety amid the ongoing conflict. Passengers are advised to check the latest updates before planning their journeys.
The situation remains fluid, with both nations exchanging artillery fire and conducting airstrikes. International leaders have called for restraint, emphasizing the need for diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation. As tensions persist, the Indian government continues to prioritize national security while striving to minimize disruptions to civilian life. The public is urged to remain vigilant and adhere to official advisories during this period of heightened alert
