Mahadevappa has inspected ongoing municipal development works and directed officials to maintain construction quality, as the town advances projects funded through ₹15 crore provided to its municipal council. A separate ₹9 crore drainage project has also been launched at Turukan Katte to address rainwater entering roads and homes during the monsoon.
The MLA reviewed several works being carried out by the town municipal council and said the projects should be built to a standard that allows residents to use them for a long period. He instructed officials to ensure quality was maintained throughout implementation and said development works in the town and surrounding rural areas were being taken up in phases.
The drainage project at Turukan Katte is being implemented by the Minor Irrigation Department. According to Mahadevappa, silt accumulation at the site has caused rainwater to overflow onto roads and enter nearby houses during the rainy season. The proposed drain is intended to address that recurring waterlogging and reduce disruption to residents.
