Maharashtra has cleared the diversion of a small parcel of mangrove land in Thane to facilitate critical access infrastructure for Mumbai Metro Lines 4 and 4A, advancing a project designed to strengthen public transport connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The approval permits the transfer of approximately 0.39 hectares of mangrove land at Mogharpada for the development of an approach road and rail spur connecting the proposed metro depot to the operational network.
