Thane Fire Response: Four Injured in Building Blaze, Wooden Stockpile Fire Contained

Two fires reported in Thane on Sunday, November 8, prompted emergency responses from the Thane civic fire brigade and the Regional Disaster Management Cell, with four people sustaining minor injuries in a residential-building blaze and a separate fire involving wooden decoration materials being brought under control without injuries.

The first incident occurred during the early hours at Aravali Hills Society in Sanghvi Hills on Ghodbunder Road in Thane West. The fire broke out in the corridor on the seventh floor of the A Wing, a ground-plus-seven-storey residential building in the Kasarvadavali area, according to Thane civic authorities.

The Thane Municipal Corporation received information about the building fire at around 12.20 am. Fire brigade personnel and Disaster Management Cell officials reached the society to conduct firefighting and rescue operations. Two fire engines and one rescue vehicle were deployed at the site.

Four people sustained minor injuries in the incident, while two residents trapped inside their flat were safely rescued by fire brigade personnel. Disaster Management Officer Yasin Tadvi and Chief Fire Officer Jhalke supervised the response. Personnel from the Disaster Management Cell and police officers from Kasarvadavali Police Station also assisted at the scene.

Authorities later said the situation was under control and that emergency teams assessed the affected areas of the building. The report did not specify the cause of the residential fire or provide details about the extent of damage to the premises.

A separate fire was reported on Sunday evening in wooden decoration materials stored in an open ground near Mayur Building, close to a pizza outlet in Siddharth Nagar, Kopri. The Thane civic fire brigade received the emergency call at 5.44 pm.

Firefighters reached the location with one fire engine, while the Regional Disaster Management Cell deployed a team with a pick-up vehicle. The joint teams worked to extinguish the blaze, which was completely brought under control at around 6.25 pm, officials said.

No injuries were reported in the Kopri incident. The materials involved were stored in an open ground, and the cause of that fire was being ascertained. The two incidents required separate emergency responses by municipal fire and disaster-management personnel on the same day.
