Thai Airways Adds Daytime Chennai-Bangkok Flights From Sunday

Thai Airways will add four daytime flights a week between Chennai and Bangkok from Sunday, expanding the airline’s scheduled connectivity on the international route amid what it described as growing passenger demand.

The additional services will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The inbound flight from Bangkok will arrive at Chennai International Airport at 3.35 pm, while the return service will depart Chennai at 4.35 pm on the same day.

The new schedule will supplement Thai Airways’ existing night operations between the two cities. The airline currently operates two daily services on the Bangkok-Chennai route, with the inbound flight arriving in Chennai around midnight and the return flight departing at 1 am.

The daytime timings give passengers an alternative to the existing overnight schedule, particularly on travel days when arriving in the afternoon or departing before evening may be more convenient. The additional flights also expand the range of timing options available to passengers using Chennai as a gateway for travel between southern India and Thailand.

According to the airline’s announcement, the move is intended to cater to rising passenger demand on the route. No further details on aircraft type, seat capacity or the duration of the additional schedule were provided in the supplied information.

Chennai International Airport is one of the major aviation gateways for southern India, serving passengers from Tamil Nadu and nearby states. International flight schedules from the airport influence access to business, tourism and onward connections across Southeast Asia. The new Thai Airways services will operate alongside the airline’s existing daily night flights, increasing the number of scheduled options offered by the carrier between Chennai and Bangkok.

The first additional daytime service is scheduled to operate on Sunday, with the four-day weekly pattern continuing on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
