Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with subsidiaries of the Blackstone Group—XSIIO Logistics Parks and Horizon Industrial Parks.
This agreement is set to bring in ₹5,127 crore (~$599 million) in foreign direct investment (FDI) and is expected to generate approximately 27,510 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the state The MoU outlines the development of over ten modern logistics and industrial parks across key industrial and multimodal logistics hubs in Maharashtra. These parks will be strategically located in Nagpur, Bhiwandi (Thane district), Chakan (Pune), Sinnar (Nashik), and Panvel (Raigad), covering a total area of 794.2 acres with a planned construction area of 1.85 crore square feet .
Aligned with the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024, the proposed parks will feature green, digitally-enabled infrastructure focused on sustainable development and job creation. The initiative aims to establish a robust foundation for manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain excellence in India, positioning Maharashtra as a premier investment destination . The collaboration is seen as a transformative partnership that will catalyze next-generation manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain ecosystems. The projects are expected to be environmentally friendly, equipped with digital infrastructure, and compliant with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards .
This development is anticipated to significantly boost the state’s industrial and logistics landscape, marking one of the largest FDI-backed investments in Maharashtra’s logistics and industrial sector to date. The initiative underscores the state’s commitment to sustainable development and economic growth, aiming to create a more equitable and eco-friendly urban environment .
