A fire broke out in a servant quarter inside a residence on the 27th floor of Tower 3 at Kolkata’s South City Complex on Friday, prompting the deployment of seven fire engines. Fire officials said there were no reports of casualties and that no one remained trapped inside the high-rise after residents were brought out safely.
The incident occurred in the morning at the prominent residential complex in south Kolkata. Residents and people nearby first noticed thick black smoke coming from the building, causing alarm in and around the housing complex. The fire was reported to the fire department, which sent seven engines to the location.
According to information attributed to fire department sources, the affected residence was located on the 27th floor of Tower 3. The fire was in a servant quarter within the residence. Residents initially attempted to control the flames after noticing the smoke, before fire personnel arrived and took over the response.
